Agree with previous comments. Useful cut-through when heading from Lincs to A1 though long term roadworks at Colsterworth mean that you cannot currently leave A1 to head North. Southermost section is most interesting, up to roundabout with A52. Beware very sharp bend when heading under railway line. A52 to Ancaster is basically one long straight - following the old Roman Ermine Street but eats up the miles very quickly

Not really a route in itself but worth building in to a longer run, maybe as an alternative to the A1.The road starts just north of the roundabout at colsterworth and finishes at the A17.There are a couple of other interesting roads (one of which is a corker !) which can be joined at the only roundabout, near Grantham . The best bit is the section just after the A1 turn off which has some highly entertaining dips and bends down to the railway bridge and then a long , twisty climb up to the roundabout. You join the A52 here for a short way and then left for the rest of the route which is a Roman road and very straight and fast with only the village of Ancaster to negotiate. Never seems to be very busy and appears to be relatively undiscovered by bikers.As an alternative you can follow the B 1176 south of the roundabout if you fancy a real challenge or keep on the A52 for a fast open sweeping road all the way to Boston.
