All tar run, not spectacular ridding, but a nice day out. Plenty of spots in Western Creek for breaky and fuel up. Gunnings has a few options for lunch and fuel. Gundaroo is also good with the Cafe doing Pizza, Store doing a wide variety of normal store burgers, fish etc. And of course the pub does some really nice food. If you want a longer more adventurous ride from Gunning head out to Tarago and back via Bungendore. Fuel and pub in Tarago :-)
Leaving canberra just before lunch and first stop is Cooma for a quick bite. On the bike to Cann River ( be careful on the road as soon as you get into Victoria as the road condition changes dramatically and gets very bumpy and makes cornering dangerous at high speed ). A pie/coffee stop and then on the bike to stay at Eden overnight. On the bike before 9am going north on princess hwy before cutting back in land through some fantastic country road riding. Then onto the highway again through Bemboka, Cooma and then home. The into this g to watch for is a strong police presence on the main highways and the 50k stretch going into Cann River from the Victorian boarder. Other than that it's an exceptional run.
Good 5 hour each way run. Good for an afternoon, overnight, return ride.
Fairy Meadow McDonald's Berrima Goulburn Canberra - Australian War Memorial All sealed roads, straight and uneventful.
Fun day ride
Easy mix of great roads and Dirt. Great for mid size Adventure bike
Doing this loop clockwise is excellent for beginners as the first sections past the dam include a number of uphill, banked corners that really allow for a developing confidence in riding windy roads.
Anticlockwise is good for advanced riders as the turns become downhill, off-camber turns that provide a challenge.
Fast and open road with couple of nice higher speed corners.
Short but sweet with an observatory at the top.
